3. FISHING CONDITIONS
We had great fishing this week with a huge payara landed by our good friend, Tim. Well done, Tim! The matrinxa were also very active this week with some great dry fly action. The river was crystal clear, and guests were able to do lots of wading. And camping on the river was also fun (despite a little rain one night).
The dry fly fishing this season has been simply amazing. We’ve never seen so many matrinxa, and we saw numerous wolf fish come in and try to eat a matrinxa while it was hooked. The jungle is an incredible place.
b) Total number of fish landed during the week: 427
c) Biggest fish landed during the week:
- Peacock Bass: 68cm
- Wolf Fish: 86cm
- Matrinxã: 56cm
- Pacu Borracha: 45cm
- Pacu Prata: 33cm
- Payara: 91cm
- Bicuda: 92cm
